I can slap this thing together in minutes even in blowing wind. Not only is that amazing, but this thing is bullet proof so it holds up to me cramming it into such a small space over and over even when I missed a twig stuck on the bottom. I pack the whole tent into a SIDE POUCH on my backpack the size of a Nalgene bottle. I have a 3 person (or 2 person and 1 dog) tent that weights about the same as your 2 person tent. Anecdotally, I've found that when a tent gets into the 6+ person range, the more expensive ones are much easier to put up than the sub-$100 ones.įor me, my $275 Marmot Limelight 3P was worth it because: Easy to set up is a bonus, but it's hard to tell before you buy it.Just sliding it through the sleeves is 100x easier with the tips on the Al's. I will never buy a tent with fiberglass poles after using an aluminum poled tent.Quality components will prevent some catastrophes, like tough zippers and good seams.
